I’m sitting on a huge amount of code that I’ve written over the years, some of which I think might interest other developers, and some of
which can easily be leveraged to create other useful little tools. Some of this code is going to find its way into a series of new $15 products which I’ll be releasing over the coming weeks.
J-Zip was the first such product (released yesterday). Today I’m releasing a new product called J-Depends!
This is a useful little template that easily hooks your APPs up to the (free) Dependency Walker tool (included with Visual Studio for the
past decade or so, but also available as a FREE download), which can generate comprehensive log files about your EXE, your end-users’ systems, your EXE’s dependencies, their paths, etc.
It’s a really easy (yet very powerful) way for your users to send you information about what’s happening on their systems, which can help you to debug problems.
For more info see here, or watch the video tutorial here, or download the demo.
J-Zip 1.01, Now with a progress window!
Following on from the thread below (2 June), I’ve just added the ability to optionally display a progress window. See here for a screenshot.
I’ve also uploaded a new video tutorial.

(The J-Zip 1.01 installer will be uploaded later this morning, and will be announced via Clarion Desktop.)
