Clarion 7 News
Clarion 7 is in the Alpha stage at the moment, however when Clarion 7 goes Beta a User Group meeting will be organised so that we can get up to speed with everything that Clarion 7 brings. The user group meeting will probably take place sometime in the next few months however the agenda for the day wont be released until nearer to the Beta release. The agenda will be fixed
this time round as there is a lot of important information that needs to be conveyed like how to install software onto Vista, not too mention all the new features Clarion 7 will have and obviously how to navigate around the new IDE.
On a personal note I’m very pleased with what I have seen so far in Clarion 7 and when its released I can see it causing a storm in the programming world with all its new features and support!
If you want to keep up to date with the latest news on Clarion then check out www.ClarionMag.com who are providing updates on the Clarion 7 (requires subscription although first couple of articles are free) as well as the SoftVelocity Blogs where you can access videos of the Alpha build of Clarion 7 and find out the latest from SoftVelocity.
User Group Webinar
I recently took part in a Microsoft and Orange Webinar learning about .net development for mobile devices like Phones & Pocket PC’s or PDA’s. Having been impressed by its capabilities I am hoping to have a Webinar running for those that cant attend in person but would none the less like to be part of the days events. So what will this mean, well you will be able to log in and
watch & listen to everything the attendees are watching in real-time via broadband meaning you can tune in for bits that most interest you and direct any questions to the presenter in real time. Its a virtual way of attending a User Group meeting when logistics or diary commitments prevent you from attending in person. If this goes well it will become a permanent feature of the UK Clarion User Groups which should be of benefit for our overseas members.
Details on how to take part in the Webinar will be made available nearer the time.
Like always the user group meetings will be recorded onto DVD so that you don’t have to make notes and all the presentations, notes and example applications will be on the DVD’s which will be mailed to attendees and Webinar participants shortly after the event.
