Data Management Center version 1.0.0.5

I have the pleasure of informning you that a new version is available for download from the site.

In this version I have :
1. Added support for ODBC DB2 Tables both as source and as destination
2. Fixed a bug in ODBC SQL where the KEYs did not show always properly

For all of you who have still version 1.0.0.3 please download the full installer.

For those having already version 1.0.0.4, please simply use the integrated updater.

Many good news and many new clients too

Merci to all of you and please : if you find any bug or discrpencies in the tool do not hesitate to contact me to find a solution.
For example someone reported that the tool refused to let him map a source col with a dest one and etc etc …
I have in code added a checking on this drag & drop as if I do not do it then some might try to map a source date with a dest byte or any other impossible combination.
I might have overseen some combination so do not hesitate.

Another point : for the DB2 tables I tested some small BLOB support only as I do not have access to any tables, again please contact me if anything is wrong there (or in other places).

MERCI

ClarioNET - Live demos, videos & presentation

On an almost daily basis, I keep being asked “Does this or that 3rd party template work with ClarioNET?”

Also, when I get asked other questions relating to ClarioNET, I sense that many people do not actually know/understand what ClarioNET is all about.

Therefore to give a better idea about ClarioNET and its power:
a) I have set up live demonstrations on my server so that people can use & see several ClarioNET applications in a real time manner. You can download the thin client to give you access to several, live ClarioNET server applications.

The intention with the live demonstrations is to take the exact demo application that other 3rd parties use to demonstrate their functionality
and to make this application ClarioNET enabled. This of course is done with the permission of the 3rd Party Vendor. I’m still waiting to hear from other 3rd party vendors who have already shown an interest (or others wish) to place their product ‘on trial’ in this manner.

b) I have also prepared 2 short videos on how to implement ClarioNET in your pre-existing app or project.
They’re not long and worth a view to better understand ClarioNET.

c) there is also a power point presentation to show the benefits of using ClarioNET the solutions that you provide to your clients.

I hope that these help to give a better picture of what can be achieved with ClarioNET as part of your application(s).

Looking forward to your comments!

Data Manager 1.0.0.4

There is a new version available to correct a bug found in the transfer of data when ODBC SQL was selected when the logfile (logfile.txt in the app dir) was not present it would send a message and kill the transfer.

If you have version 1.0.0.3 then please use the updater to get the latest release.
If you have an older version please remove it and download the full installer.

For info : I have been trying out ODBC connections with DB2 and except for the keys all is perfect and you will soon be able to use this also as source or destination …

Data Manager 1.0.0.3
Now - as per several requests done here or privately - you will be able to also transfer data to and from your DAT files.

Clarion 6.3.9057 out to 3rd party developers on Monday

Just a heads-up. This coming Monday, Clarion version 6.3.9057 will be released to 3rd party vendors to allow them time to prepare their products for the general release. This release is a stability release, so its aim is to provide “safe” fix bugs, but we did sneak in a couple new features also deemed “safe”, namely; the ABC class reader now supports prototypes spread over multiple lines, and the ABC class reader now ignores code with OMIT sections, provided the OMIT statement does not have a second parameter. We expect the general release will be within a week later. Thanks, and have a great weekend!
