The 7 most annoying developments in software

When did software get annoying? There was a time when a new release of a popular program was so exciting and useful that we couldn’t wait to try it out. Now, some software seems like it’s deliberately designed to irritate you, with everything from persistent update and registration requests to sunset policies that cripple perfectly good applications. Marketers have taken over product design, and the products are the worse for it.

Reality check: what we know (and don’t) about Windows 7

Excited and whimsical speculation about future versions of Windows is a popular pastime, almost as much as complaining that newly-released versions are too different from the “old reliable” releases that everybody knows and (sometimes) loves. With Windows Vista recently celebrating its first birthday and preparing for the release of Service Pack 1, a team of developers at Microsoft is already busy working on its successor. While Microsoft has been pretty good about keeping the details of “Windows 7″ under wraps, a few enthusiastic employees have leaked out a few details. As is usually the case in these situations, people have taken these tiny tidbits and added their own—often highly improbable—speculation. In this brief report, we’ll review what we know, what we expect, and what we’re calling bunk on, all based on our knowledge of Windows 7 from inside sources at Microsoft.

ClarionMagazine: Designing Clarion# Libraries

Creating code libraries is considerably easier in Clarion# than in Clarion, in part because you no longer need to declare prototypes to use library code. And .NET’s namespaces make it easy to organize your code into a meaningful hierarchy.

TDC, new tool for Clarion developers

It’s a fact that at least one time we have lost our code and keeping in mind that we live from programming we need to avoid this no matter how.
In the other hand team work could be very complicated sometimes, with the risk of losing the changes made in our code by another developer, by not having all the source files correctly updated and a lot of other problems.
To avoid all these inconvenients we have created TDC. With this tool we can keep all our valuable information and resources in a centralized repository and, at the same time, generates historical information of all our changes not only for us but also for our customers.
In addition we will be able to track all the issues related with our projects (bugs, improvements, new functionalities, queries, tasks, etc) making easy the software project management.
You can download a fully functional demo version of TDC valid until January 31th from our web page.
